2008 CAMRA Pub of the year Award

The Tobie Norris pub has recently been presented with the prestigious 2008 Pub of the Year Award, by the Peterborough and District branch of CAMRA (not bad for a pub that celebrated its first birthday on 14th December 2007).

The building dates back to 1280 and is one of the oldest buildings in Stamford, and many of its original features have been restored, including oak panelling and stone floors. The pub favours beers from local microbreweries including its very own microbrewery - Ufford Ales.

To be eligible for a POTY Award, pubs have to have been presented with a Gold award within the previous twelve months. The branch membership is then asked to nominate their pub of the year. The choices, this year, were the Black Swan at Farcet, Prince of Wales Feathers at Castor, the Letter B at Whittlesey and the Tobie Norris.

The Tobie Norris pub: 12 St. Paul’s street, Stamford, Lincolnshire PE9 2BE Tel: 01780 753800.
