The Garden House Hotel has long been established as one of Stamford’s most agreeable hotels, with a friendly country house feel about it and a charming garden.
The hotel has recently secured the services of a highly experienced and successful chef, Gareth Thorpe. He was previously Executive Head Chef at the Old Bridge in Huntingdon, which has always received a high rating in good food guides, including three rosettes.
Gareth is developing a new menu for the Garden House and sourcing his ingredients locally with freshness and flavour top of mind. The restaurant rightly has the ambition to be offering amongst the best food in the region.
Plans for change are also afoot in the rest of the hotel, renewing the soft furnishings and adding a more contemporary, uncluttered, classic look. And there is a bold new initiative for a bar in the front room of the hotel just to the right of the entrance, to be called the Park Bar, which will be open to residents and non-residents alike.
The conservatory and garden area continue to delight, and the car park has been re-surfaced and has 25 spaces with good security.
