Fashion news - April

Cavells

On Thursday 24 April from 7.00pm until 9.00pm, Cavells is staging an evening of “Seasoned Dressing” featuring sensational outfits for the coming season, modelled on the night by Cavells’ models.

Cawthorne & Wright will be creating glamorous hairstyles and Suzanne Francis will be demonstrating new textures and colours from her summer make-up palette. Bespoke millinery by Jo Jo will complete the picture.

Drinks and canapés from Calico of Mill Street and the £5.00 ticket gives entry to a prize draw on the evening. Please ring 01572 770372 to reserve tickets.

This is an opportunity to see Cavells’ occasion-wear come to life, whether you are looking for the perfect outfit for Ascot, a special wedding, a summer ball or family event.

Sly Fashion

Sly has introduced some exciting new brands this season. These include Tommy Hilfiger bringing on board not only their great casual range of clothing, not the typical preppy side of the label, but also footwear, swimwear, underwear and nightwear!

Paul Smith approached Sly last summer in connection with the launch of a brand new label this season. It is beautiful and affordable, not the couture prices you will be used to seeing.

There are two new denim labels, 18th Amendment and Sass & Bide. A French brand named IKKS, British brand, Bernshaw featuring elegant cocktail dresses priced between £200 and £280.

So pop in, they are looking forward to seeing you! And don’t forget Sly is now also open every Sunday between 11am and 4pm.

Sly 2 ‘As Good As New’

Sly 2, selling stylish as good as new clothes, shoes and accessories, is the next exciting venture of Belinda Sly owner of Sly. Belinda, never one to sit on her laurels having launched Sly nearly 7 years, is opening Sly 2 in April on the first floor of her current shop.

The idea grew from her idea to recycle items purchased by her clients. Every lady has items in her wardrobe worn once for a special occasion and made the ‘I can’t live without this’ purchase only to find they never even get as far as removing the price ticket!

Because customer service is of such paramount importance to Belinda, appointments can be made at the shop 7 days a week. She is offering a stylish relaxed atmosphere on the first floor where clients, both buying and selling, will be offered coffee, comfortable chairs and makes it a bit of a meeting place! Additionally she will have personal appointments with clients at their homes all over the country making it an enjoyable stress free experience for the client.
