Break the mould

Local singer songwriter Liz Shea and her band will be performing songs from her brand new album 'Break the Mould' at St.George's Church on Saturday 17th November at 8pm. Christmas Carols at Burghley House

The magnificent setting of the Great Hall at Burghley House is to be the venue for a performance of Christmas music by the Girl Choristers of Peterborough Cathedral.

Girls choir The Girls choir of Peterborough Cathedral performing in St Fin Barre's Cathedral, Cork under the direction of Andrew Reid, Director of Music.

Fresh from a successful tour of Ireland where they performed in St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin and St Fin Barre's Cathedral, Cork, the Choir returns to Burghley for the first time since their sell-out concert three years ago.

They will be accompanied by harpist Rowena Bass, a member of English Serenata. "The main work in our programme will be Benjamin Britten's masterpiece A Ceremony of Carols" said Director of Music, Andrew Reid. "With other works by Gabriel Fauré and Britten's English contemporaries Peter Warlock and Patrick Hadley, and above all with a number of well-known popular Christmas carols, Medieval music and plainsong we hope that many will join us for a wonderful evening of music in this marvellous setting." that 7.30pm.
