Quenby’s Stilton cheese was first made here in the 1700s by the housekeeper whose daughter married the publican of one of the major coaching inns in Stilton. Here she sold her mother’s cheese hence the cheese’s famous name – though it has never been made in the village of Stilton!
Enjoy the revival of Stilton cheese making at Quenby Hall, a perfect seasonal blue cheese available all the year round. Enjoy a talk about the making of Stilton cheese and tasting before indulging in a ‘Bangers and Mash’ (a recipe of Quenby Organic Long Horn Beef and South African aromatic spices) lunch. Followed by Stilton and biscuits, glass of wine.
Quenby Hall produce English Longhorn Cattle, regarded as the oldest pure breed of cattle in England. This organic beef is the ultimate in quality and traceability. After lunch enjoy a walk on the estate to see and learn about the Longhorn Cattle.
