A concert to raise money for research into motor neurone disease by popular and talented harpist, Eleanor Turner. The programme will include music by Prokofiev, Scarlatti and Debussy.

Fergus Black directs the heavenly voices of the St. Martin's Singers in their third annual Christmas concert in the magical surroundings of the 15th century church. This year's programme includes chant by Hildegard of Bingen, and Howard Goodall's new song-cycle, Winter Lullabies written for Christ Church Oxford where it received its premiere in 2006.

Opening with wine and canapés on Thursday 6 December, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the Church will be open between 10am and 4pm for visitors to enjoy the many styles of beautifully decorated Christmas Trees and other seasonal decorations. The St Peters Singers will be performing during the evening of Friday 7 December with The White Horse in Empingham putting on a special 'Bangers and Mash' supper beforehand.

Burghley's annual Christmas craft fair will host a fantastic selection of wonderful crafts and great gift ideas, making it a joy to fi nd presents for your loved ones.
Sunday 7 December from 10am Christmas arrives in Stamford with a host of yuletide activities to suit every taste. A Christmas market will offer a wide range of festive gifts and produce. Father Christmas will pay a visit along with the Mayor of Stamford and there will be Christingle services in All Saints Church at 4pm and 6pm.
Entertainment will include Christmas carols with Stamford Brass, the Maids of Clifton Clog Dancers, a jazz band, a fun fair and a classic car display in Red Lion Square. Food and drink including a pig roast will be available throughout the day as well as free face painting and balloon modelling. Cameras at the ready for an original 1830s Gay Gordon stagecoach which will be stopping at The George at 10.30am for a Christmassy stirrup cup. Also in town will be the Exotic Pet Rescue from Market Deeping, as well as additional street entertainers.

Congratulations to the Stamford's Shoestring Theatre Company who have been awarded the coveted Minack Trophy for the best play of the 2007 for their production of Alan Bennett's 'The Madness of George III'. Director David Roberts said, "We first performed the play at Stamford Arts Centre in June. Then, in July, the sixty strong company packed its bags, loaded up the van and travelled to Cornwall to perform a week's run in the open air. To be invited to perform at Minack is a great privilege but to win the trophy is a tremendous achievement. It is the result of a terrific team effort from all involved."
